Volvo Truck and Bus Headquarters, Warwick. Restaurant floor coverings.

We were asked to replace the restaurant floor coverings for our long-standing customer Volvo Group UK.

The project involved an uplift of 280m² of existing floor coverings of carpet and vinyl, and replacing them with new luxury vinyl tiles (LVT) to the main restaurant area, and safety sheet vinyl behind the coffee bar and serving areas.

Being a busy staff restaurant, we started works on the Friday afternoon and carried it over the weekend. (We offer flexible/out-of-hours work times to suit all business)

We commenced work by removing all the loose furniture from the workspace, then and applied dust protection to all the fixed surfaces.

We installed filtered extractor fans to control any dust particles and then began uplifting the existing floor coverings. When the old flooring was removed, the sub-floor was inspected for any damage, then the old adhesives and any sub floor latency was removed with coarse grit sanders, then vacuumed and primed ready for the installation of the 3mm levelling compound. This was applied to the whole area and left to fully dry until our return on the following day.

The levelling compound was checked and prepared for laying the new floor coverings. The LVT chosen was a timber-effect plank vinyl and was laid to run the length of the restaurant with staggered joints. A protective coating was applied to create a clear protective barrier. This was followed by the installation of a sheet safety flooring behind the service counters. Once all the flooring was fitted and remaining dust sheeting was removed and the furniture was brought back and relocated ready for operation on Monday morning.
