Dry lining
Partridge Interiors Ltd
Dry lining is a term that over the years has broadened its meaning to cover a wide range of applications. Dry lining consists of several processes, starting with dot and dabbing plaster boards to the structure of the building and then tapping and jointing to create a finished wall similar to plaster and skim so it is ready for decoration. The process covers any plasterboard application that is tapped and jointed, like metal and timber stud partition walls and wall liners, and can include thin coat plaster skim. Whatever the application requirements, Partridge Interiors Ltd has the experience to handle it.
Gypsum boards, thermal boards, or specialist application boards are fixed to the structure of the building with a drywall adhesive solution, with the option of an additional mechanical fix for specialist applications. This method provides a strong and smooth finish, ready for decoration.
A metal framework is constructed and fixed from floor to soffit, with one or more layers of gypsum board or specialist application boards mechanically fixed to the framework. There is also the option to insulate the cavity for sound and thermal requirements, making it a versatile solution for various spaces.
Jumbo stud walls are supersized metal stud partition walls often used to separate industrial and retail units with a 146mm wide robust metal stud. These walls can be built to heights of around 15 metres depending on the system specifications with one or more layers of gypsum or specialist application boards. They can be fitted with either ply or wire mesh for extra security between properties.
A metal frame fixed from floor to soffit and braced back to the building structure, with one or more layers of gypsum board or specialist application boards, with the option to insulate the cavity. This method is ideal for enhancing the thermal and acoustic performance of your walls.
A robust metal frame fixed from floor to soffit without the need for bracing back to the structure. They have one or more layers of specialist application boards with the option to insulate the cavity to increase acoustics and thermal properties. Constructing this system without the need for bracing reduces sound transference and is commonly used to create a party wall or a quiet meeting or boardroom solution.
This versatile system is a bit of a crossover, although it is a suspended ceiling, it is very much a dry lining system. It comprises a metal frame suspended from the structural soffit of the building, with one or multiple layers of gypsum board or specialist application boards mechanically fixed to the framework. There is also the option to insulate the cavity. MF ceilings are excellent for creating feature shapes, lighting details, and bulkheads of all shapes and sizes. Mixing it with suspended ceiling grid systems adds splendour and accessibility for maintenance.
